Stress Management

A large component of the anti-aging program involves managing your stress.  Stress, by definition,  means "a specific response by the body to a stimulus, as fear or pain, that disturbs or interferes with the normal physiological equilibrium of an organism."  In other words, stress causes an imbalance in our bodies in the context of metabolism, immune function, and overall well-being.  With regard to preventative medicine, reducing stress is key to lowering the risk of developing chronic diseases.

If you're chronically stressed, you are putting your body at risk for adrenal fatigue.  When your adrenal glands become "fatigued" from constant stress, hormonal deficiencies result and cause accelerated aging.  Read more for more information about adrenal fatigue for men and adrenal fatigue for women.  It is very important from an anti-aging point of view to make sure stress levels are a minimum, because deficiencies and imbalances of hormones put your body at risk for not only accelerated aging but also serious conditions.
